After launching the ultra-wide angel 14mm f1.8 DG HSM | Art prime lens in 2017, Sigma has introduced the 14-24mm f2.8 DG HSM | Art. This new lens has been designed to work with 50 megapixel cameras and offers high specifications.
Sigma claim the lens provides distortion limited to 1% or lower. An apeture of f2.8 is available throughout the zoom range. The lens includes 17 elements in 11 groups: first element being a large-diameter aspherical lens. In fact the lens diametre is a wapping 96.4mm. Sigma lenses feature up to three types of exclusive low-dispersion glass offering almost no chromatic abberation, flare or ghosting.
Similar to Sigma’s Sports lenses, the 14-24mm f2.8 DG HSM | Art has dust- and splash-proof seals at the mount connection, manual focus ring, zoom ring, and cover connection. This means that you can work in all types of weather. Furthermore, the lens is protected by an oil- and water-repellent coating.
For video makers, Sigma is offering the Front Conversion Service. For a fee, SIGMA will convert the petal-type hood of the 14-24mm f2.8 DG HSM | Art lens to an exclusive round component.
