Through the glass arcades
To close the month of September, today's photo of the day is another interior architectural photograph, this time of the beautiful Victorian Leeds Corn Exchange. This image taken by Derek Finch really shows off the amazing construction of this building, from the roof down. What I like most about it is the symmetry of the composition with the staircases that take your eyes on a journey through all the levels of the building. I also like the lighting and how Derek has managed to capture the building without anyone in the shot.
Although Derek is mainly a landscape photographer, he doesn't limit himself to only that style. I highly recommend that you use the link above to see the image at full resolution on Flickr and take your time to browse through the rest of his portfolio. I'm sure you'll enjoy his work.
