Of all the countries that I have been lucky enough to visit, Thailand is my favourite. The people, the culture, the food, I love everything about it. Bangkok is a chaotic city full of contrasts, and this great photograph by Panupat Suppaibulsuk illustrates that perfectly.
The architecture of wats (Thai temples) is unique, opulent and beautiful. What I really like about this image is the point of view chosen by Panupat. The sprawling city as far as the eye can see, with low residential buildings and skyscrapers, and in the centre the white and golden temple rising high into the evening sky. The time of day when this image was taken also helps to add to the overall atmosphere. A beautiful shot that makes me want to return to this magical country.
Panupat produces some quite spectacular landscape images, but he doesn't just limit himself to that style. Please use the link above to see the image on 500px in much higher resolution. Although at this time Panupat only has 3 images in his portfolio on 500px, you can also engage with him through his Facebook page, and I'm sure you'll love his photographs.
