This shot of a shopping centre by British photographer Marc Gardner really appeals to me because the longer you look at it, the more you notice what is going on in the scene. First of all, the rain is an all important part of the image, the wet floor reflecting the light and echoing the shiny surface of John Lewis in the background. Then there is the woman walking on the left in the foreground and well as the group of people in the centre. But what I want to know, is what are the two girls dressed in black with the pink sash up to. They look somewhat out of place on a cold rainy day, but have obviously been told to go and stand there. Poor things, I wouldn't be at all surprised if they had phoned in sick the next day.
Marc is a talented photographer who usually takes landscapes but turns his hand to different styles. I strongly recommend you use the link above to view this image on 500px and take the time to browse through the rest of his work.
