It's hard to beat the beauty of a peacock, with its magnificent tail and vibrant colours it has to be one of the wonders of the natural world. I really like this photograph by Sydney based photographer Dustin Li because he has managed to capture one with its tail open, but the composition of the shot is so clever. I like how the sunlight is illuminating the tail feathers and the head and neck, and how all around the bird is dark. In this way your eyes are drawn into the focal point of the image, the bird's head. Exactly as the peacock would want when trying to attract a mate.
Dustin produces a variety of photographs, and although I have chosen a nature image, he is mostly known for his photography of children, which is probably some of the best I have seen. I strongly recommend you use the link above to see this image on 500px and take your time to browse through the rest of his work, you'll love what you see.
