There's never a dull moment when you have an Instagram account. Every month there are changes to how IG works, and how it shows you photos.
I'm pretty sure everyone will have noticed the launch of shops on Instagram this week. Hopefully, that won't mean that my feed will fill up with even more sponsored sites and advertising. But beyond that, it appears that the powers that be over at IG have been listening to the complaints of its users. An announcement this week said that a "New Posts" button is being tested so that users can manually refresh their feed. This should mean that once you launch the app, and IG has organised your feed the way it wants to, you can tap the "New Posts" button and have the most recent posts come first. But why have a button anyway? Why can't the feed be chronological as it used to be and I can scroll through it until I see the last images I saw? Anyway, it appears that this is just one change that we can expect in the coming weeks as they look to overhaul how the timeline works.
Let's hope that this little step in the right direction is the start of the journey that returns IG to being the great photo sharing app it once was.
