One of the wonderful things about living in Cagliari, Italy is that the city is flanked by wetlands which are a sanctuary to an incredible range of birds and other wildlife. Local photographers flock (pun intended) there to capture images, and I have chosen this one by Alessandro Siddi because it is very different from the usual ones I see.
I really like the almost hi-key quality it possesses, as well as all the negative space which draws the eye into the image and to the bird. A secondary aspect which makes this a great photograph is the symmetry created by the reflection of the bird in the water.
Alessandro produces a variety of top quality images. Please use the link above to see this image on 500px and take your time to browse through the rest of his work.
