This is one of those photographs that you have to look at closely to fully appreciate what the scene is. The street artist who appears to be sketching an empty chair, or maybe the homeless person sleeping in the background, but no... he's sketching a face on his smartphone. Is he doing this because he has fallen on hard times too? These artists you find ordinarily in busy tourist areas, but the scene in the background is one of a more run-down area: the graffiti and the makeshift shelter for the homeless man. Apart from the story there is another aspect of this image that I like, and that's the colour pink that appears in certain parts of the scene: the artist's hat, his chair and an object in the background behind a cardboard box. This is a great capture by photographer Fernando García!
Fernando is a young photographer who has a keen eye for composition and the use of colour. He has a wonderful portfolio that really deserves to be seen. Please use the link above to see the image on Flickr and take your time to browse through the rest of his work.
