Windsurf -La Torche (Finistère)
I live just a few hundred metres from a beach that windsurfers and kite-boarders use because there is something particular about the wind here. However, being in the Mediterranean, we rarely get any the kind of waves as seen in this photograph by French photographer Christophe Delacroix.
I really like this shot, firstly because of the impact of the colours, and then because Christophe has frozen the scene perfectly but in a way that you still get a sense of movement. This is a really dramatic shot from which you can almost hear the waves crashing onto the beach and feel the spray on your face.
Christophe's photography is heavily influenced by the sea, and he has developed a style which gives his images an almost surreal effect. Please use the link above to see this image on Flickr and take your time to browse through the rest of his work, I'm sure you'll like what you see.
