The Copper Mine
I saw a documentary recently which spoke about how British miners during the Industrial Revolution would dig down and under the sea bed to access minerals. This moody landscape photograph of a disused copper mine by British photographer Brian Farrell evokes that age. I like the colour tones of the image which recall that metal, and the rays of sunlight breaking through the cloud cover that focus your attention on that part of the scene.
Brian produces some quite lovely photographs, most of which are connected to water in some way. Please use the link above to see this image on 500px and take your time to browse through the rest of his work. You won't regret it.
